Dear YouTube,

Your video sharing website has been my pop culture for quite some time now. Having that excitement of some of my favorite youtubers upload a video has been a weekly (almost daily) routine for me. It pleases me to say that that your website is one of my favorite websites to visit.

However, just recently, while I was on another video spree on my subscription list, I noticed that you have updated the comment section as well as the likes/dislikes bar. Although some of the features of the comment section are useful, such as the part where you can now see every reply to a certain comment, the thing that bugs me is the fact that when you click the link to a comment that is a reply to another comment it will just open another link to the same video. Another part of your update that that needs to be pointed out is the likes/dislikes bar. Before the update the colors of the bar were green and red (green for likes and red for dislikes). Now that it is blue and white (blue for likes and white for dislikes) its not only less visually appealing, but also much harder to determine how many dislikes the video gets as the white part of the bar tends to blend in with the background

I understand that you are only doing these updates to further improve your website, but I’m not the only one having the same problem. After reading through the comments of some of the videos I was watching that day, some people mentioned how “the updates were anything but useful” and “just makes things harder”. Some youtubers also have the same complaint and try to make petitions on having the old version back. I suggest that fixing the links on the comment section and changing the colors of the likes/dislikes bar would be a good solution

I hope you get a the chance to read this letter and hopefully take my suggestion into consideration since I love youtube with passion and its upsetting that these updates make it difficult for me to enjoy it more.

            From,
            Florencio Sipalay
